Traditionalism is not the root cause of this problem. The root cause is the debate of equity versus equality. We are all inherently equal beings, however, men really think differently when vetting women in the dating space-- and no one seems to think their psyche has some weight in this process. Gender equality and women's progress doesn't happen in a world and workforce designed for men. When we say that women operate on a 28 day cycle and men operate on a 24hour cycle, no one factored that in designing the workforce. Office temperature is still a debate, because people could care less. If women ask for 3 day menstrual leave, that's seen as slacking off. I am a traditionalist, however, I always say equity comes first. A man providing because the workforce is his safety net, compared to how many women also come from underwhelming support and circumstances, is not wrong--- that's the equity thats delivered. It's a really complicated system, and the UN releasing statements on how equality has 300 more years to go, continues to show why. You are writing in the context of white feminism, which doesn't apply to women of color either. Women of color have always worked.
