The Layers of Our Time
How the layers of the world we live in shape the perspective of our reality
Recently I met with a few people where we talked about how we grew up and how we felt like we belonged in society.
I never did, so my two cents were much more constructive than positive.
Then I realized that many people might not be able to discern the layers of the trauma they faced. It’s both good and bad. However, I don’t feel like I’m understood to the degree I wish I was understood.
I do harbor resentment in some way for my past — and it’s difficult to move beyond sometimes. I’m only doing my best — and I wish I had more fun sometimes.
I don’t want to make life so serious, and yet sometimes because of how much negativity is outside — I wonder if it’s me or the systems we live in or the times we live in.
Many things have changed and for the better in that sense. However, I still abide by this idea —times may have changed but circumstances haven’t changed.
I’m still a woman that faces more hurdles. Although I put my mind to good use and bring out my inner power, I often sense that the systems we live in are meant to grasp and hold our psyches within limits.
