Are we Desi or American? It’s hard to tell.

I’m tired of society — — especially about this topic.
Nearly every issue we have is a societal construct.
I’ve had people look at my photos to tell me that I don’t look like I’m from the U.S. I’m a native New Yorker, for that matter.
I’ve been constantly judged since high school, from my Instagram, and my dating profile.
My nature to be authentic raises a few eyebrows.
The golden standard of hypersexuality.
If I don’t show cleavage — — I’m too conservative.
I don’t look put together and wear makeup, I’m criticized for being boring and simple.
I’ve had brown men tell me that I look like a village woman from India who hasn’t been uplifted in life (a real-life “sati savitri” if you know the idiom in Hindi) — — but hello? Have you looked at my selfies??
