I Found Out Medium’s Secret Pt. 5

What the algorithm and explore page doesn’t tell you about earnings.

I’ve been writing for a while on here and recently faced a roadblock with my progress. After a hiatus, I continued this page after rebranding and developing my social media.

However, I couldn’t help but feel my writing wasn’t getting the outreach I desired. I noticed trends of controversial topics, articles that desperately need a peer review, and more things about dating that generated revenue.

So here are a few other things I found out by observing over time.

There was a lot of trial and error for this part.

1. It takes a village — the key to earning more money over time is by using the community to our benefit. I’ve started to love the medium a lot more for how positive the community is, and how the engagement drives more traffic.
2. A community that helps out 1–1, is how you get the most effective business. Cold calling has rarely been a long-term pursuit, as it dies out very quickly. Put effort into building like-minded relationships, and valuing…
