Here's the main question, what is considered loosening the grip on them? I believe that men should wholeheartedly provide emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially--- something that hasn't been considered in provider mentality at all. If there's no pouring into each other, and rather a fact checking of who's paying or doing xyz--- I don't find that romantic and so many I know who don't either. There's needs to be a space that keeps people fulfilled. In Denmark and other nordic countries, there's a study here that talks about how gender egalitarian isn't egalitarian and less fulfilling: "Even in a gender egalitarian society, women still perform more of the housework for relationships to be stable" https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/0192513X20949890
