Dear Kamala Harris
Here’s how you can get more votes before election day.
As someone stepping into the political world, writing about women in the world, and is seeing how the election spans out — I have a few points to make that many people won’t pick up on.
Sure, we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes, however, there are some educated guesses that can be made.
Let’s start with common complaints I hear across the country.
For one, I think you should embrace your Indian heritage more — lots of people notice you’re not as assimilated. In fact, I’ve seen more about your ties to the sorority in college, or how there’s a coalition of black women who donated money overnight on a Zoom call (all are great, but it shows a disconnect).
We haven’t had mixed-race candidates before within the South Asian continent, and more so in the U.S. All I’ve seen is you making dosas with Padma Lakshmi on social media, but never fully embracing the ethnic wear.
Are we solely South Asian for optics?
You’ve positioned yourself very well to stand in line for the presidency, I'm impressed by the timing — but how do you plan to overturn Roe vs Wade?
